Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our konjac pasta. Certified quality, exclusive European range, guaranteed odour-free.
About our konjac pasta
What makes The Konjac Shop different from other stores?
We are the most complete konjac store in Europe for three reasons no competitor can match. First: our raw materials are ISO and BRC certified, the most rigorous food safety standard in the industry. Second: we are the only store in Europe with exclusive varieties such as basil spaghetti, tomato, spinach, protein, soup noodles and lasagne sheets. Third: we have 4 guaranteed odour-free products — not reduced, eliminated. All of this with just 7 kcal per 100g, the best caloric value on the market.
What exclusive varieties do you carry that I can't find elsewhere?
We are the only store in Europe with these products: spinach tagliatelle, basil spaghetti, tomato spaghetti, protein spaghetti, soup noodles (angel hair) and lasagne sheets. You won't find them in any other Spanish or European store. This is our exclusive range.
Odour-free — the most important question
Does your konjac pasta really have no smell?
Yes. We have 4 products with 100% guaranteed odour elimination: tagliatelle, spaghetti, knotted noodles and konjac rice. We are not talking about "reduced odour" or "almost odour-free if you rinse it well". We are talking about odour eliminated during the production process. These are the products we especially recommend to anyone who has had a bad experience with other brands.
Do the other products have a smell?
Varieties outside the guaranteed odour-free line may have the mild characteristic smell of konjac preservation water, which disappears completely when rinsed with water for 30 seconds. If you are very sensitive to smells, start directly with the 4 guaranteed products.
How have you eliminated the smell?
It is the result of working with ISO and BRC certified first-quality raw materials and a production process specifically optimised to eliminate the compounds responsible for the odour without altering the properties of the glucomannan. It is not a masking additive — it is a clean formulation that eliminates the problem at the source.
Health properties and benefits
Does konjac pasta help with weight loss?
Yes, backed by science. The EFSA officially recognises that glucomannan contributes to weight loss as part of a low-calorie diet. With only 5 kcal per 100g and a powerful satiating effect, it is the most effective tool for reducing caloric intake without reducing the volume on your plate.
Is it suitable for a keto diet?
Absolutely. With less than 0.1g of net carbs per 100g, it does not interrupt ketosis under any circumstances. It is one of the most valued options for those following strict ketogenic protocols. See our complete guide to konjac pasta for keto →
Is it suitable for diabetics?
Yes. Virtually zero glycaemic index, 0 added sugars, and glucomannan slows down glucose absorption from accompanying foods. Always consult your doctor before making changes to your diet. See our complete guide for diabetics →
Is it suitable for athletes?
Yes, especially during definition or cutting phases. It allows you to maintain plate volume with virtually 0 calories, freeing up caloric space for protein. It does not provide energy carbohydrates, so it is not suitable as a pre-competition glycogen source. See our complete guide for athletes →
Does it contain gluten?
No. Our konjac pasta contains no wheat or any gluten-containing grain. Check the individual product page if you have diagnosed coeliac disease to verify there are no traces.
Is it vegan?
Yes. All our konjac products are 100% plant-based, with no ingredients of animal origin.
How many times a week can I eat it?
Every day, without limitation. Most of our customers eat it 3 to 5 times a week. Always pair it with protein, vegetables and healthy fats to make the meal nutritionally complete.
How to prepare it
How do you cook konjac pasta?
Open the pack, drain the liquid through a colander, rinse with water 2–3 times and heat in a pan. That last step is key to improving the texture. Add your favourite sauce and it's ready. The whole process: less than 5 minutes.
Why is it important to dry it in the pan?
Konjac pasta has a high water content. If you add it to the sauce without drying it first, it dilutes the sauce and the texture ends up softer. With 1–2 minutes in a dry, hot pan, the pasta loses its excess moisture and the final texture is much closer to conventional pasta.
Does it need to be kept in the fridge?
Sealed packs can be stored at room temperature until the date shown. Once opened, keep the pasta in its liquid in the fridge and consume within 2–3 days.
